How to Write a Summary for IT Support

Your summary is a few sentences at the top of the resume that states who you are, what you do, and what you want next. This is meant to be brief and concise; you want to offer an overview of your candidacy for the position.

  1. Mention your previous experience. Have you worked for several companies, managed anyone, or mentored anyone? Did you intern at a software company? Have you developed any programs?
  2. Describe your greatest strength. Are you a quick-worker, no problem is too big? Do you have excellent customer-service skills?
  3. Explain what you’re eager to accomplish in the next stage of your career. Are you looking to work for a large company? Do you prefer helping computer users or solving network issues?
Example: 10 years experience developing software and solving technical issues for companies and individuals alike. Excellent customer-service skills with vast knowledge in computer languages and programming.
